Description
A short stroll out onto the Hengistbury Head nature reserve to take in the views of the golden beach running along the headland towards the Isle of Wight in the distance, or the views across Christchurch Harbour towards Mudeford Spit, famous for its exotic beach huts, will convince you too that this is one of the most beautiful places to live on the South Coast of England.
Our house is 5 minutes walk to the edge of the nature reserve and also the eastern end of the promenade which runs for 7 miles west along the gorgeous sandy beach to Sandbanks. There is something here for all the family with a host of great restaurants, bars and shops within easy reach. On Hengistbury Head itself you can find the Hungry Hiker café, a compact 18 hole golf course and a visitor centre. Walking around the Head or taking the Land Train from the cafe you will come to Mudeford Spit where you can find the Beach House restaurant and catch a ferry across the short stretch of water to Mudeford Quay.
The house itself, built more recently than most on the Head, is on a quiet road with easy access to both Christchurch and Southbourne. The house comfortably sleeps 8 and has 2 bathrooms and a downstairs toilet. The modern kitchen, dining room and lounge are well laid out and linked in a way that allows easy flow around the rooms and the hallway, something that children always seem to enjoy. Patio doors from the dining room lead out onto a secluded, well stocked garden with different spaces to relax, whether it’s on the suntrap patio at one corner, the pagoda seat in another corner or on the large patio closest to the house.
At the side of the house there is a large private area for storing paddleboards, bicycles, etc. and to sluice down after visiting the beach. Ample garden furniture and a barbeque are provided to make the most of our outdoor spaces. There is also a summer seat at the front of the house where you can relax in the relative privacy afforded by the substantial garden vegetation. There is parking for 2 cars on the drive but there is also ample free parking on the street at any time.
You should find everything you need in the light and airy kitchen. There is lots of cupboard storage space, a fridge freezer and a 5-ring gas hob with an electric oven. The usual food preparation utensils you would expect to find in any home are available along with condiments, cooking oil and a good range of spices. The kitchen is also equipped with a breakfast table, television and Amazon Dot. The utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a sink for rinsing off beach gear along with an iron and ironing board. A vacuum cleaner can be found under the stairs in the hall.
Fast Broadband Wi-Fi is available throughout the house and the televisions are equipped with Netflix and Amazon Prime for you to log in with your own details if applicable. The television in the lounge has a Virgin TV box and is equipped with BT Sport.
