Burley, The New Forest
*** Sorry - We are unable to offer use of the wood burners ***
Lavender Cottage is ideally located in the picturesque village of Burley, within the New Forest National Park. It is the perfect base for exploring the local countryside by foot or bicycle, enjoying the beaches of Highcliffe and Mudeford less than 15 minutes away by car and visiting the local market town of Ringwood or the larger cities of Bournemouth and Southampton. Ponies and cattle roam around the village and frequently pass by the cottage.
The cottage is within very short walking distance of Burley’s amenities including a choice of pubs, tea rooms, the village shop, a sweet emporium, stores selling locally produced fudge and cider, a beauty salon, a spa, a place to hire bicycles for all ages and gift shops, including one dedicated to Burley’s long history of witchcraft.
You will be able to learn more about this history, admire the many thatched cottages, spot herds of deer, attend the regular village events and craft fairs, visit the site of an Iron Age hill fort and look out at Burley Beacon, the supposed site of a dragon’s lair.
Lavender Cottage sleeps six with two double bedrooms, both with views of the forest, and a twin bedroom all on the first floor, which also includes the bathroom with a bath/shower. The ground floor contains a work area with desk, a cloakroom and a living room with Smart TV, DVD player, with a range of DVDs and a selection of board games. There is also an open-plan dining/kitchen area with a fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, induction hob, gas-fuelled Aga and combination microwave/oven.
Patio doors lead out of the open-plan area onto a large outdoor patio space containing garden furniture and a dining table with chairs and lawn with a trampoline (used at guests’ risk) and a summer house available for storage. There is parking for up to three cars on the driveway.
All bedding and towels are included, except beach towels.
Wi-Fi is generally very good but subject to local weather conditions.
Pets are welcome and dogs will be warmly greeted in many of the local pubs.

The house and garden perfect in every respect
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We all had a lovely stay at Lavender Cottage. The house and garden perfect in every respect. Very convenient for the village amenities, the seaside, forest and heath walks, horse riding and even golf if you’re that way inclined (we weren’t!). Just avoid Lyndhurst as it’s a traffic black spot. We recommend eating at The Burley Arms. Delicious food, very friendly staff and dog friendly.
Thanks again for a fun weekend in spite of the rain.

We had a fantastic stay at Lavender Cottage
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We had a fantastic stay at Lavender Cottage. It is ideally situated right near the centre of Burley and is beautiful inside and out.
The garden space is perfect and the outside furniture is perfect. The cottage itself is very cosy but spacious at the same time, with all the facilities needed.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and all your communications beforehand were perfect for a stress free holiday.
Thank you

We cannot recommend Lavender Cottage highly enough
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We cannot recommend Lavender Cottage highly enough. Situated in the beautiful village of Birley, this spacious cottage provides everything a family could want. The kitchen is very well equipped and the cosy, welcoming lounge area provides the perfect setting to relax in following a day walking though the pictuestque surroundings. There are also plenty of games and a selection of DVDs for the evenings, whilst the ample patio and garden areas are ideal for eating outside in the afternoon sun or enjoying a good novel. With the beautiful beaches of Christchurch just a short drive away, and family days out such as the Faconryand Reptile sanctuary within walking distance, there is plenty for all ages to enjoy.

Having ponies wandering past the garden gate was our fave!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My family and I enjoyed a fantastic break at Lavendar Cottage just recently.
The cottage is in the perfect location, with the new forest on the doorstep and lovely beaches a short drive away.
Well equipped, homely and the added bonus of nice garden furniture, we all loved the cottage.
We would love to return in the future. Having ponies wandering past the garden gate was our fave!

I cannot think of a better place to stay
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I cannot think of a better place to stay for three nights, located in the middle of the New Forest. The cottage easily holds four adults, and is well equipped. A lot of thought was put into every detail. Excellent value too. Mud Huts were always pleasant and professional. I hope that we will be able to return to another of their properties. My thanks to the team for their help.

It was everything we had hoped for right in the centre of beautiful Burley
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lavender Cottage. It was everything we had hoped for right in the centre of beautiful Burley.
Our group was 4 adults and 1 child under 2. We had plenty of space and the provided travel cot / high chair were perfect.
The outdoor space was comfortable and great on a sunny day.
The host was great at communicating and very kind / helpful.
We would absolutely stay here again and will be looking out for Lavender Cottage specifically next time we want to stay in the new forest.

Lavender Cottage is a delight. We stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lavender Cottage is a delight. We stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were 4 adults and a baby and there was plenty of room for us all, with 2 double bedrooms and a twin room. They also provided a nice clean modern travel cot.
The living area is very cozy with nice furnishings and lots of games and dvds. The dining room and kitchen is fantastic, very large and spatious. The kitchen is very well equipt with the added bonus of a coffee machine and milk frother. The kitchen has got an aga which isn't really suitable to use during the summer due to the heat so if you plan on doing lots of cooking this might not work for you. They do have an induction hob and a microwave/grill/oven which worked for us for the week once we adapted what we fancied cooking.
The garden is nice and with beautiful weather we got to sit out on the garden furniture with a nice glass of wine.
The property has a nice shower and bath and even provided bath toys for the baby.
Burley is beautiful!
