DESCRIPTION

Quayside:

Quayside is a front row luxury lodge which overlooks Mudeford harbour. The lodge benefits from wonderful and ever changing panoramic views which can be viewed from the lounge and the wide decking area. Patio doors open out onto the decking which is furnished with a dining table and chairs and loungers for those bright, and hopefully hot sunny days. In the evening the spectacular sunset over Hengistbury Head will likely be the main attraction. The lodge has some outside lighting which is useful for those warm nights when you can dine and entertain outside.

Our lodge has a spacious lounge/diner with a smart TV and our kitchen is well equipped with microwave, dishwasher and also a large fridge/freezer. Quayside is set back from the front and provides privacy for those who like to take in the sun and relax but still be able to watch the harbour-side activities.

Sandhills:

The Sandhills site is relatively small and has a boutique feel. It has a heated outdoor pool with seating and loungers, a small gym and a lounge bar where free Wi-Fi and snacks are available.

There is also a small children’s adventure play area. Sandhills promenade fronts the famous Avon Beach. The long sandy beach with beach huts stretches over half a mile to Friars Cliff, the nature reserve and Highcliffe beach. To the left of the site you can stroll to the renowned restaurant the Noisy Lobster. A stroll to the right will take you to the popular Jetty restaurant at the Christchurch Harbour Hotel.

Mudeford:

Mudeford Quay is still a working quay today and fishing trips are available directly from the quay. There is also a cafe, a pub The Haven Inn and a fish stall. For children and families crabbing is a popular pastime, you can purchase buckets, nets and bait from the quay shop if you need them. The Highcliffe sailing club is based at the quay as well as the Christchurch lifeboat station which practices launching weekly. Dinghy sailing championships are held throughout the year.

From the quay you can take the ferry to Mudeford sandbank where you can walk to Hengistbury Head and beyond, past the abundant and colourful beach huts which are located on the bank.

Some Dorset Area Attractions:

Bournemouth, Poole and the famous Sandbanks area are around 30 to 60 minutes drive away. The New Forest with its wild ponies and old villages is nearby. For the more adventurous day trips can be made to Lulworth Cove, The Isle of Wight and Lyme Regis with its famous fossil pavement.

We hope you enjoy your stay at our retreat.
